The Story

I first met Ives a few years ago in Charleston, SC during one of her friend’s bachelorette photo sessions. A couple of years later, I photographed another wedding that Ives attended.

I remember stepping back during the reception, just watching the dance floor light up — and noticing Ives and Owen. Their connection was undeniable. The way they looked at each other, laughed, moved — it was one of those rare moments where you just know.

Fast forward 8 months, and I was photographing their own wedding day in Raleigh, NC.

We started the morning at the elegant Heights House in downtown Raleigh. Ives’ first love, her pup Honey, showed up for getting ready photos and made an appearance during the first look, showering her parents with love. It was a moment I’ll never forget — tender, joyful, and completely them.

The ceremony was emotional, heartfelt, and full of meaning — and as soon as it ended, the skies opened up. A full downpour followed us on the way to the reception at the iconic Angus Barn, but nothing could dim the joy these two radiated.

Chad Biggs Events created an absolutely stunning reception space — every detail thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed. And once the music started, the dance floor stayed packed. These two (and their crew) can move — every moment felt like a celebration.

The night ended with a sparkler send-off, the perfect goodbye to a day filled with love, laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.
